HIKING: Bayou Bodcau Reservoir

← AR OUACHITA RIVER CAMDEN AR Triple Blaze →

Description

A series of 3 trails that loop together for a total of 10 miles. These 3 trails offer a unique landscape to the northwest corner of Louisiana. On the trails you will hike on level terrain, and hike in elevation changes of about 100 feet. These trails are perfect for the novice hiker, and can provide good training for the beginer. The trails are used for hiking, jogging and biking, so be on the lookout for other people. The only problem that I encountered with the trails, is that you have to be going in one direction to view the trail markers, as they start off on only one side of the trees. So before you begin make SURE to study the trail map at the trail-head before heading in. There are quite a few "side-loops" that veer off from the main trail, so another reason to study the map first. Wonderful scenery, abundant wildlife and quite hiking prove this trail a great experience.

Directions

From Shreveport, LA, 20 miles east on I-20, then north on LA 157 to Bellevue, 2 miles north on a county road.
